About Department

Department of Botany is one of the leading departments in our college. At present Department had 64 students admitted to B.Sc. I. and from last six years our passing percentage of result is above 90%. At present department has well equipped lab with glass wares, microscopes, specimens, class work material.

To fulfil the needs of student and to create interest in subject department organized various events every year, guest lecture, Botanical tour, institutional visit, seminar competition, group discussion. Various extension activities were also run by the department. Department has Botanical Garden with various medicinal as well as ornamental plants.

Vision

“Attempt is to prepare students for lifelong learning by drawing attention to the vast world of knowledge of plants and introducing to the methodology of systematic academic enquiry. With this in mind, we aim to provide a firm foundation in every aspect of Botany and to explain a broad spectrum of modern trends in Botany”

Aim of the Department

• To achieve academic excellence in basic and applied aspects of plant sciences.
• To impart basic and advanced education to students through teaching, learning, research and evaluation.
• To motivate the students to undertake research in basic and applied thrust areas of plant sciences.
• To inoculate scientific awareness towards protecting diversity and Eco-environmental Management of plant resources for sustainable development.
