Karmala is well-known for its Kamaladevi temple. RajeRaorambha Nimbalkar constructed this temple in 1727. This goddess is thought to be the incarnation of Tulja Bhavani of Tuljapur. In this temple, the number 96 is extremely important. This temple, built in the Hemadpanti architectural style, has two entrances, one in the southeast and one in the north. This temple is notable for its 96 pillars and 96 windows. The temple has 96 pictures and 96 stairs to the well. The Navratri holiday is celebrated here with considerable zeal. An annual yatra is performed here from the full moon of Kartik to Chaturthi. This taluka is crossed by the rivers Sina and Bhima. That is why the riverbank is under cultivation. Sugarcane is mostly grown in this region. The railway also runs through this taluk and the nearest station is Jeur,which is 18 kilometers away.
Ujani Dam, also known as Bhima Dam or Bhima Irrigation Project. It is a limestone gravity dam located in Ujani village near Madha and Karmala taluka of Solapur district in Maharashtra. Interestingly, this dam is located in Solapur district and even though there is not even a little rain in this district, this dam fills 100% because of the heavy rainfall in the western part of Pune district. The water storage capacity of this dam known as Ujani Dam is 1517 GigaLitres. 117 TMC (100%) 123 TMC (111%). As this dam has such a large water capacity, the business of fish farming is carried out here on a large scale. The reservoir of this dam is called Yashwant Sagar. Flamingo (Rohit) is an exotic bird that visits this reservoir in winter. Due to this dam around 60% of land is under irrigation for farming in Karmala tehsil.
